Use custom ring outside diameters

Leave unchecked for automatic straight-taper ring sizes from base to top. Check this box when you want to enter every ring outside diameter yourself.

Ring height / board thickness Board width Radial width of the segment blank, edge-to-edge. Segments per ring Saw kerf Waste allowance % Wall thickness goal Used for inside diameter and sanity checks.

Restored core formula:

Stop block = target outside diameter × tan(180° ÷ segments per ring)

This matches your known 10" / 12 segment example: 10 × tan(15°) = 2.679". For 12 segments, the wedgie sled template itself is 30°.

Use the checkbox in Project Inputs to switch from automatic straight-taper sizing to hand-entered ring outside diameters. RR Shop Check will flag conflicts if those ring sizes do not leave enough contact area.

Rare Rotations Method: Assembly Orientation

Before cutting, mark one long face with a straight line and one edge/height side with a squiggly line. During glue-up, alternate both marks around the ring.
